Well - Its Official, I'm not fat....

Im just 13 weeks pregnant.

Due date 4th March 2006.

K and I still reeling from the shock, sorry about the secrets, just wanted to get the first scan to confirm things.

It was amazing, we saw it do somersaults, we saw its face, spine, hands and legs.

Time slips by

I was sat "surfing" yesterday whilst waiting for my eyes to hit tired and force me into the "sleep submission" I was desperately searching for when it dawned on me that once again my blogging has hit an all time laxness that could easily be surpassed by a sloath on prozak (sp)!

It's not even that I have nothing to write about. Last week we, K and I, were in Londidnium. We had a fantastic time, catching up with friends and family, eating good food, talking good talk and laughing at the madness of London traffic!

This week work hit an all time high - the mawanker was on holiday! The trailer got cleaned top to bottom and we were visited by Malcolm, we took a brief sojourn up to Edinburgh on Sunday where we caught up with Janey Q, Robert and Tom.

We watched three plays:
"Moon Journey" - a cross between Dr Who and Play school - Okay but they should have washed their costumes!
"The Beginners Guide to the Edinburgh Festival" - A funny two hander that had me laughing out loud and smirking cause I knew better - HA!
"The Butcher and the Thief" - Robert and Tommy's play. A macarbe twisted performance that combined physicality and puppets. I admit that I might have been slightly biased but I was totally bowled over by the amount of talent on stage!! We finally got to bed about 5am Monday Morning!!!

We stayed in a very sweet, but slightly expensive, B&B called "The Bonnington" and were served breakfast by David, a softly spoken Scottish man whose wife Irene makes the best porridge I have ever tasted at 8.15am (So much for a restful bankholiday).

Bleary eyed we headed back to Newcastle at 9.30am, sun shining and feeling culturally motivated. We lunched with Malcolm, dropped him off at the bus station at 4pm and then met up with Shane, my brother who has just returned from the Gulf - and dined with him. It took us four pubs to find food we could all settle on, but the meal at the Beehive was worth the wait!

I will make a motivated effort to update on a more regular basis, cause I've missed loadsa stuff but that's the gist, the summation, the core of my last week.

Oh and Hx - at 2pm this afternoon you are released from your silence - the secret can be told!!!

Lax, Lax very lax....

Okay, big apologies for not writing anything but the world has been a bit mad these last couple of weeks and whenever I thought 'Oh I will sit down and blog' it got a little madder.

So what's been going on? I know you are all hanging on tenterhooks (NOT)wondering if K and I are up or down, divorced or together, happy or sad, well I'm pleased to say that after our slightly rocky start back down the togetherness road we have found a rather pleasant pace to trundle together down this difficult path.

We are not perfect (my subconscious crys out "he is not perfect, I'm as near as you could get" excuse me for a moment whilst I quieten down my alter ego.....) but lots of the stuff I wanted and he didn't seem to understand is now happening.

Im hopeful when I say I've become an easier person to live with - yes I'm still a nag, still anal and still obsessive - but I'm doing it all in a less controlling way, which K is able to deal with. We talk more, touch more and generally listen to each other rather than shouting and sulking. All grown up and making the whole process of living with each other a whole lot easier.

So a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who offered "worms" of wisdom, shoulders to cry on and understood that I really did need to call you up at silly o'clock in the morning drunk as a skunk to talk absolute crap.

Are we going to be friends forever? Asked Piglet.
Even longer, Pooh answered.

Work is still a pain, but in finding solace at home I've been able to find an ethos of working that works for me - I'm being nice to my Mawanker, even occasionally agreeing with him. He is very worried and is not quite sure how to take the change!!!!

Kill my boss? Do I dare live out the American dream?

I've also some HUGE news, that Hx knows but is sworn to secrecy for the next few weeks. If you feel like taunting someone give her a call and just listen as she has to bite her tongue to stop herself from spilling. Tee hee - love you babe and promise I will let you know as soon as you can tell all!!!!

This weekend we are off to stay with friends in Lanarkshire then going up to Edinburgh to see Roberts play, on Sunday night we are heading down to London where we will spend the next week driving round London visiting friends and family.

As I said, all in all busy and hectic but good things are going on, I hope the world is as pleasant a place for you as it is for me!!!

Happy Minden Day

Today, Minden Day, is a battle honour day, the the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, which in proceeding years became part of the Fusiliers, squashed lots of Frenchies and gave good fight.

As an Ex member of the Fusiliers Im extending this celebratory "Yahoo" to all and sundry, but specially my Hooch Sister, Hx.
